25th PPHSN Coordinating Body Meeting & EpiNet/LabNet Regional Meeting

​The 25th PPHSN-CB Meeting will be held on Monday, 24 July 2023, in Honolulu, Hawaii (USA). It will be immediately followed by the 2023 Regional EpiNet and LabNet Meeting from 25-28 July 2023, also to be held in Honolulu, Hawaii. The PPHSN-CB Meeting will be in hybrid (in-person and virtual) format.

Co-organised by the Pacific Community (SPC) & the Pacific Island Health Officers' Association (PIHOA).

The Pacific Community (SPC) is closely monitoringCoronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak that started in the city of Wuhan, Hubei Province, China early December 2019 and continues to grow. Our Public Health Division (PHD) works in close collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) as part of the multi-agency Incident Management Team (IMT) which has been set up to support and guide Pacific Island countries and territories (PICTs) in their preparedness, surveillance and response activities.

The Pacific Public Health Surveillance Network (PPHSN) is a voluntary network of countries and organisations dedicated to the promotion of public health surveillance and appropriate response to the health challenges of 22 Pacific Island countries and territories (PICTs).

Wake up! Workshop

Well-known for its landscapes, authentic and welcoming population, the Pacific region is also sadly famous because of the high rate of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). NCDs are today the main cause of death in the Pacific. To help tackle this regional health crisis, the Public Health Division of the Pacific Community (SPC) began the Wake Up project.

Health ministers from Pacific island countries and areas will gather in Papeete, French Polynesia for the 13th Pacific Health Ministers Meeting.

The biennial meetings of Ministers of Health for the Pacific Island Countries help develop a consensus view of health in the Pacific and set future directions in the effort to build Healthy Islands.
